THIS BOIL WATER NOTICE HAS BEEN LIFTED EFFECTIVE MARCH 28TH.

The Village of Fonda Water Department has issued a Boil Water Advisory after turbidity levels at the water treatment plant exceeded New York State Department of Health standards. State regulations require that water users be notified whenever turbidity exceeds established limits, as a precaution to protect public health.

In situations requiring immediate public awareness, notifications are issued through established emergency communication systems to ensure rapid and widespread distribution of important information. Local emergency services and partner agencies, including the school district, are used because they can quickly reach a large portion of the community across multiple communication platforms. This coordinated approach prioritizes the timely delivery of public health notifications to residents and water users.

The Water Department is actively monitoring the system, and initial testing to lift the Boil Water Advisory will begin tomorrow morning. Additional sampling will continue until Friday to meet regulatory requirements. We hope to have the final testing results on Saturday morning. Residents and water users will be notified promptly once testing confirms that water quality has returned to acceptable standards and the Boil Water Advisory can be safely lifted.

The Village has bottled water available at the Village DPW Department if you wish to pick up water during the boil water notice. Please call the Village Clerk’s office at 518.853.4335 for more information. Or stop by from 6 AM to 2:30 PM at the Village DPW.

The Village appreciates the community’s cooperation and patience as we complete the required testing and ensure the public water supply remains safe.
