❄️ LEVEL 2 SNOW EMERGENCY ISSUED – OVERNIGHT PARKING NOTICE

The Village of Fonda has issued a Level 2 Snow Emergency in advance of an upcoming winter storm expected to bring 4–8 inches of snow, according to the National Weather Service.

To allow residents time to prepare and to support overnight snow removal operations, the street parking restriction associated with this Snow Emergency will take effect later, as outlined below.

Overnight Street Parking Ban – Effective Time

Parking on all Village streets will be prohibited:
Saturday, December 27, at 9:00 PM through Sunday, December 28, at 7:00 AM

This parking restriction is being implemented overnight to allow Department of Public Works crews to safely and efficiently clear roadways. Vehicles left on Village streets during this period may be ticketed or towed.

Weather forecasts indicate that the primary snowfall is expected to taper off by approximately 7:00 AM Saturday morning, providing residents with daylight hours on Saturday to clear driveways, sidewalks, and relocate vehicles before the 9:00 PM parking restriction begins.

What a Level 2 Snow Emergency Means

A Level 2 Snow Emergency allows the Village to implement parking restrictions and emergency snow removal measures as conditions require.

During a Level 2 Snow Emergency:

  • Parking is prohibited during posted or announced restriction periods

  • Vehicles left on streets during restricted hours may be ticketed or towed

  • Driving is discouraged unless necessary

  • Residents should call ahead before reporting to work

  • Schools and some businesses may delay or suspend operations

Friendly Reminder – Village Code § 155-12 (Parking Prohibited Certain Hours)

No person shall park a vehicle upon any Village street or portion of a street between 12:00 midnight and 7:00 a.m., from November 1 through April 1, unless otherwise indicated.
