Water Works
The Village of Fonda Water Works is responsible for the treatment and filtration of the Village's drinking water before it enters the public water distribution system.
Providing drinking water is more than operating a treatment facility. It involves continuous system operation, monitoring, testing, recordkeeping and compliance with State and federal drinking-water requirements. Village water operators monitor the treatment process and perform required operational testing and sampling to help ensure that the water supplied to our customers meets applicable drinking-water standards. The Village's public water system operates under the regulatory oversight applicable to public drinking-water systems in New York State.

Annual Water Quality Reports
The Village of Fonda is committed to making information about our public drinking-water system readily available to the people we serve.
Each year, community water systems prepare an Annual Water Quality Report to provide customers with important information about their drinking water.
These reports help residents understand the source of their water, how it is treated, the results of required water-quality monitoring, contaminants detected through testing, applicable drinking-water standards and other important information about the public water system.
We encourage residents to read the reports and learn more about the treatment, testing and oversight that are part of providing public drinking water.

Looking Ahead
Protecting Our Water — Today & for the Future
Protecting Fonda's drinking water involves more than treating water at the filtration plant. It begins with protecting the source of our raw water and continues through treatment, storage, distribution and ultimately delivery to our customers.
The Village is actively participating in several long-term initiatives focused on source-water protection, regional cooperation, infrastructure planning, water quality and the future resilience of our public water system.
These efforts bring together the Village, neighboring communities, engineers, public-health professionals and other stakeholders to identify vulnerabilities, evaluate future needs and develop practical strategies for protecting our drinking-water supply.
