I am very sorry to share with you – we canceled the After the Fourth Celebration for July 11th. I reduced the event to just the fireworks in cooperation with the Fonda Speedway promoter, and the response was still no due to concerns about family gatherings. After numerous phone calls and speaking to the Governor’s office, we are told not fireworks are allowed statewide.

The news is disappointing as I wished to have something that our community could enjoy easily with safe distancing – what a better way to come out than a celebration of our Independence.

I plan to prepare an event in late September or early October to have a local celebration in conjunction with the Fonda Speedway. We will monitor the ongoing situation and let everyone know if this comes to fruition.
