Notice of Public Hearing: Tax Levy Limit Override
Notice is hereby given that a public hearing will be held by the Village
Board of Fonda on the 29th day of April 2024, at 6:30PM, in the municipal
building of the Village of Fonda, 8 E. Main St., Fonda, New York, to
consider a proposed local law entitled, “A Local Law to Override the Tax
Levy Limit Established in General Municipal Law §3-c.” This local law is
intended to authorize the Village Board of Fonda to exceed the tax levy cap
otherwise provided under New York State law for the Village’s 2024-2025
budget and fiscal year. All interested persons will be heard on this matter at
this date and time. A copy of the proposed local law is available for review
by contacting the Fonda Village Clerk/Treasurer. A special meeting of the
Village Board of Fonda will be held following the public hearing regarding
the local law and FY 2024-2025 Budget adoption.
