Public Notification for Fonda, NY Residents: Public Hearings on National Grid Proposed Rate Increases
Attention residents:
National Grid has filed amendments to its tariff schedules with the Public Service Commission (PSC), seeking to increase its electric and natural gas tariff revenues, effective April 1, 2025. These proposed amendments would impact 37 counties across Upstate, Central, and Western New York, including Fonda.
We strongly encourage all residents to participate in these hearings and make their voices heard. This is your opportunity to share how these proposed rate increases could impact you and your community. By attending the in-person or virtual hearings, you can ensure that the Public Service Commission considers your concerns and perspectives. National Grid is proposing the following rate increases:
- Electric delivery revenue increase of approximately $525 million, representing a 20% increase in base delivery revenues.
- Natural gas delivery revenue increased by approximately $148 million, representing a 28% increase in base delivery revenues.
If approved, these changes would result in an estimated monthly bill increase for the average residential customer of:
- Approximately $18.92 (15%) for electric service.
- Approximately $18.34 (20%) for natural gas service.
