The Village of Fonda is proud to announce that we have been officially certified as a Pro-Housing Community by New York State’s Housing and Community Renewal (HCR) under the Pro-Housing Communities Program. This certification is a significant milestone in our ongoing efforts to enhance housing opportunities, support community growth, and improve the quality of life for our residents.

What This Means for Fonda

This certification recognizes the Village of Fonda’s commitment to addressing housing challenges and making our community more accessible for residents of all income levels. With this designation, we are now eligible to apply for a range of state discretionary funding programs, with up to $650 million available. These funds can be leveraged for housing development, infrastructure improvements, and initiatives that make homeownership and rental options more affordable for families in our community.

I will be working closely with the Village of Fonda Board of Trustees to identify the best path forward and explore the opportunities this certification brings to our community. As we move ahead, we will ensure that residents have opportunities for public input, allowing everyone to be part of the conversation in shaping Fonda’s future.
