Route 5 Water Main Break – Water Restored

Village of Fonda Public Notice

The water main break on Route 5 West has been successfully repaired. However, residents and businesses on Route 5 West, the east side of Hickory Hill Road, Piling Drive, and Perry Lane are advised to boil their water before use until further notice.

You don’t need to do anything if you did not lose water during the water main break or are not a municipal water user.

For those affected, we recommend bypassing any water filtration systems and running your water to clear your local water lines. Please ensure that any water intended for consumption is brought to a full boil for at least one minute before use.

We thank the New York State DOT for their valuable assistance during this process. Additionally, we want to thank our three dedicated DPW workers for their extraordinary efforts. They worked tirelessly throughout the holiday to clear snow and treat our roadways and promptly turned their attention to repairing this water line as swiftly as possible. Their commitment to our community is greatly appreciated.

Users affected will receive a notification once the boil water advisory is lifted.

Please monitor the Village of Fonda’s website and social media channels for updates.

We appreciate your understanding.
