I am sending this notice out to our residents and visitors as a precaution. My message is not to alarm anyone and should serve as a reminder to follow current protocols in preventing and isolating the COVID-19 virus.
This past week the Governor indicated the state would transfer COVID-19 patients to various hospitals throughout the state. This action is in addition to the ordinary travelers visiting our area daily from largely impacted areas such as New York City.
Although it is, in my opinion, we should contain the patients currently under treatment or suspicion of having the Coronavirus in their home areas. We have to prepare for the protection of our communities.
It is to this end that I provide you with recommendations in part from the CDC in controlling the spread of this virus. It is up to each of us to protect one another from exposure. If exposed to the virus or recently ill, avoid contact with people.
Native to our upbringing, we stand with our fellow New Yorkers and the rest of our Country and will offer help wherever possible. You should not take this message for anything more than what is “an Advisory” as to how you may maintain your health. We must not shame people for being ill or for any other reason.
Please refer to the already published government information, and please remember – Maintain Social Distancing of at least six feet.
Thank you,
Bill Peeler
